Sydney's father was John Dinsmore [1824-1899], son of Thomas Dinsmore [1792-1844] and Mary Freeborn [1803-1844]. John's wife Mary Strong [1827-1885], was the daughter of William Strong and Mary Kirkpatrick."--Pref. Ephraim Tinkham was born in Ashburton, England, probably in 1616, and died in Middleboro, Massachusetts, May 20, 1685. Peter Brown came to Plymouth in the "Mayflower", from Yorkshire. He died in 1633. John Crosby was born about 1440 and died in 1502, spending his entire life in England. David Dinsmore came to New Hampshire from Ballywatick, Ireland, where he born in 1784.

Moses Perkins (1747-1836) married Mary Smith (1751-1817) of Connecticut. Moses was a cooper by trade. Both are buried in 'Old Cemetery' in Warsaw, New York. The oldest immigrant listed in this family history is Thomas Dinmore, born in North Ireland of Scotch descent. He married Hannah ____. He was the third settler in Hollis, New Hampshire, before 1736. David Dinsmoor (1714-1784), probably a son of Samuel Dinsmoor, was born in Ireland to a family of Scottish origin. He married Elizabeth Kennedy (1710-1807), a widow, and they immigrated to America in 1745, settling in New Hampshire. They had seven children. The spelling of the surname changed ca. 1775. Many descendants live in New England.

Abel Dinsmore and his wife, Esther, were among the early settlers of Conway, Franklin County, Massachusetts about 1767/1769. Abel was probably a descendant of John Densmore, who immigrated from Scotland to Londonderry, New Hampshire in 1719, but the lineage between has not been traced. Descendants and relatives of Abel and Esther lived in New England, New York, Michigan, Wisconsin and elsewhere.
