Description
James Dobie was born in about 1760 in Dumfriesshire, Scotland, probably the son of Thomas Dobie of Oldwalls Farm near Lockerbie, Dumfrieshire, Scotland, and was baptized 14 December 1760. He died in 1847 in Quebec. His marriage to Agnes Brown was proclaimed 2 June 1799 at Applegarth Town, Applegarth Parish, Dumfrieshire, Scotland. They had seven children. Descendants and relatives lived throughout Canada.
