A brief history of Thomas's second wife, Elizabeth Wiseman (1857-1938) is included. Joseph Dobson and his family emigrated from Liverpool, England on board a ship "Alesto" on March, 1841, and arrived in New Orleans on May 16, 1841. Elizabeth Wiseman also emigrated from England around 1880.

Adam Dobson (1795-1894) was born in Culpeper County, Virginia to George Dobson (1766-1828) and Mary Anderson (1776-1830). In 1821 he married Mary Singer (1798-1864) who was also from Virginia. They became the parents of eight children. They eventually moved to Indiana and settled in Pendleton. Descendants live throughout the United States.

Peter Dobson (1833-1908) was born in Reach Township, Ontario Co., Canada. He was the fifth generation descending from Robert Dobson and Dorithy Taylor of Lythe Parish, Yorkshire, England. Peter married Anna Moore 25 May 1889. They were the parents of nine children who were all reared in Ontario Co., Canada. Descendants lived primarily in Ontario Co., Canada and elsewhere.

Rice, Gilbert, William and Malachi Simpson are found together in Clarke County, Georgia in 1805, and in Franklin County, Tennessee in 1812. Robert Smith (1626-1693) immigrated to America in 1638. He was born at Kirton, Lincolnshire, Eng. and died at Boxford, Mass. He was possibly the Robert Smith who was an indentured servant to John Whittingham. In 1656, he married Mary French and they were the ancestors of Joseph and Hyrum Smith, as well as of the author.
