Jane Gwillym (1791-1826) was reported in 1991 to be one of the ancestors in this lineage, but in 1992, the author stated that previous research was misguided and the correct ancestor was Jane Wright (1791-1826). Barry Lewis Thomason was born 3 November 1853 in Habersham Co., Georgia. He was the son of Thomas F. Thomason and Sarah Farmer and a descendant of George Washington Thomason born 1771 in South Carolina. Barry married Martha Jane Dodd 10 August 1871. They were the parents of nine children. Descendants lived primarily in Georgia, Alabama, Flordia, Texas and elsewhere. Includes information on the Ayers and Dodd families.

Daniel and Nancy Clark Matheny were the parents of at least nine children, born in Ohio, ca. 1806-1822 or later. During the 1830's and 1840's at least seven members of the family settled in the Elk River Velley of Kanawha County, West Virginia.
