David Owen Dodd, son of Andrew Marion Dodd (1823-1867) and Lydia Echols Owen (1828-1885), was born 10 November 1846 in Victoria, Texas. He died in 1864 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Barry Lewis Thomason was born 3 November 1853 in Habersham Co., Georgia. He was the son of Thomas F. Thomason and Sarah Farmer and a descendant of George Washington Thomason born 1771 in South Carolina. Barry married Martha Jane Dodd 10 August 1871. They were the parents of nine children.
