Contains a descendancy chart beginning with Sean Kivaneaugh who was born in 1740 in Ireland. His wife was Nancy O'Kelly who was born in 1760 also in Ireland. Their grandaughter, Nancy Cavanaugh (b. 1836), married James O'Doherty (b. 1828). The grandson of Nancy and James, James Patrick O'Doherty (1893-1948), was born in Woburn, Massachusetts. Traces down several O'Doherty lines. Descendants lived mainly in Ireland and Massachusetts.

Andrew C. Cowan (1741-1798), a Revolutionary War solder, was born in Augusta County, Virginia, the son of John and Jennett Cowan. He and his wife, Mary Walker, had at least two sons, ca. 1760-ca. 1767. Record follows line of descent to James B. Cowan (1855-1940). He was born in Clinton County, Kentucky, the son of James C. Irish by birth, John Doherty went to Manchester, England in 1816 to seek work in the cotton spinning mills. He became one of the outstanding trade unionists of his time.

John Brown was born 25 June 1841 in Waterford, Ireland. He was the son of Michael Brown and Joanna Murphy. John immigrated to the United States prior to 1865 and married Ann Leahy 6 January 1865 in Worcester, Massachusetts. They were the parents of nine children. John died 25 June 1917 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Descendants lived primarily in Massachusetts, Connecticut and elsewhere.

James Harley, Sr. (ca.1734-1783) petitioned for land in 1756 in Georgia, and was received into membership of the Congregational Church of Midway, Georgia. "The Midway (Georgia) Congregational Church was organized by descendants of an English Colony which came first to Massachusetts (1630), to Connecticut (1635), to South Carolina (1695), and to Midway, Georgia, in 1752." Descendants lived in Georgia, Florida and elsewhere.
