Edward Doughty (or Doty) was born ca. 1605 in England. He was a descendant of Charles Montague Daughty of Thorborton Hall, Suffolk Co., England. Edward immigrated to America aboard the Mayflower in 1620 and settled in Plymouth Colony. He married twice but the name of his first wife and first set of children are unknown. Edward Doty was probably born around 1599 in England. In 1620 he immigrated to America on the Mayflower as a servant of Stephen Hopkins. In 1621 he was involved in the only duel in the history of Plymouth Colony. Edward married Faith Clarke and they were the parents of nine children. Descendants live in Massachusetts and other parts of the United States.
