Benjamin Newton Dull was born 7 March 1872 in Willshire Township, Van Wert, Ohio. His parents were Franklin Benjamin Dull and Rebecca Jane Walters. He married Florence Berdella Johnson (1880-1959), daughter of George Dimmitt Johnson and Charity Ann Agler, in 1896. They had seven children.
