Ethel Mildred Saltus was born in 1871 at Litchfield, Connecticut, daughter of Nicholas Saltus and Maria Seymour. She married Charles Ludington in 1895. She was a descendant of Solomon Saltus (1745-1834) who was born in Bermuda and later lived in New York.

Robert Wendell Sager was born 8 November 1927 in Schenectady, New York. His parents were Clinton White Sager (1892-1981) and Cora Ethel Cullings (1898-1986). His grandparents were Cornelius Van Dyck Sager (1860-1934), Purlina Putman (1864-1958), Arthur Cullings (1866-1933) and Caroline VanderPool Liddle (1868-1960). Ancestors lived mainly in New York and Holland. Includes Van Dyck, VanderPool, Shufelt, Bradshaw and related families.

George Wightman was born 4 November 1632 in England. He emigrated in 1657 and settled in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. He married Elizabeth Updyke in 1663. They had eight children. George died in about 1722. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Rhode Island, New York, Indiana, Minnesota, Montana and Ontario. Also suggests a possible link to Wightman ancestors in England, which has not yet been proven.

Richard Smith I (ca. 1596-1666) married Joan (Johan) Barton in 1621, and lived in Thornburyk, Gloucester County, England. The family immigrated about 1636 to Taunton, Massachusetts, moving later to Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and then to New Amsterdam, New York. While in Rhode Island, he purchased Cocumscussuc, sometimes called Smith's Castle. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York and elsewhere.
