William Daniel was born ca. 1625 presumable in England and died 20 February 1698 in Middlesex County, Virginia. He married (1) Dorothy (Forth?). They had two children. John Dykes (1839-1932) was born in Scotland and trained for the ministry in Glasgow. He was a Scottish Covenanter in his religious orientation. In the 1870s he traveled to Australia and eventually settled in Jerilderie where he was the minister for thirty-five years.

James Dyches was probably born in Virginia about 1750. He was married twice and possibly a third time. He was the father of nine children and had trouble paying his debts. He was skillful in working with wood and worked for a master carpenter. Information on his over one thousand descendants is included in this volume.
