William Fred Eason was born 18 May 1835 in Fayette County, Georgia. His parents were Rasberry Eason (1810-1865) and Emily P. Norton. William and his brothers John and Obediah all served in the Confederate Army in the Civil War. William died in a mining accident during the war. His brothers both deserted.
