A study of the Ihle and Ely families (among them are George, Michael, Martin, Jacob) of Washington, Lebanon, and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania. They lived during the late 1700s and early 1800s. One family came from Brötzingen, now Pforzheim, Baden, Germany.

Ferdinand Georg Fischer was born in about 1702 in Wasserburg, Germany. He married Anna Maria Doerflerin, daughter of Mathes Doerfler and Rosina, 20 June 1730. They had six children. Ferdinand died 25 January 1748 in Gossengrün, Bohemia. Descendant John Baptist Stark was born 30 March 1879 in Gossengrün. Charles Wesley Hubbard was born in 1810 in Sheffield, Massachusetts. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was eventually married three times. His wives included Mary Ann Bosworth , Mary Edwards, and Sophia Pollard. He died in 1903. These index cards are of he and his wives ancestors and some unrelated Hubbard families. William Paxson married Mary Sydenham and, as Quakers, they immigrated from England to Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where their son, William Paxson, Jr., was born in 1685. Thomas Watson (ca. 1651-1738) was born in Strawberryhowe, Cumberland, England. He married Rebecca Marke in 1684 or 1685. They came to America in 1701 and settled in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived chiefly in Pennsylvania. Includes ancestors in England to the 1600s. Also includes history of the Quakers in Cumberland, England and Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Robert Wiland Rummel was born 4 August 1915 in Dakota, Illinois. His parents were William Howard Rummel (1879-1957) and Dora Elizabeth Ely. His grandparents were William Henry Rummel, Harriet Diehl, Thomas Leander Ely and Elizabeth Wiland. He married Marjorie Bell Cox in 1939. They had five children. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived in Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Montana and elsewhere.

John Ball was born in Stafford County, Virginia. He married Winifred Williams. She was probably his second wife. He had eight known children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Kansas and Texas.

Morris O'Friel (d.1778), of Scottish lineage, immigrated with his family from Ireland to Orange County, Virginia during or before 1738. Descendants (chiefly spelling the surname Friel) lived in Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, California (via the Isthmus of Panama in 1852) and elsewhere.
