Johannes "Hans" Grumbacher arrived at Philadelphia, Pa. from Europe in 1733 and bought land in Coventry Twp., Chester Co., Pa. in 1734. He died in 1744. He had two wives and seven children. Ferdinand Pagel was born in the province of Hinter Pulberg, Germany and married Kristine Schmidt (Schmitt) around 1848. Their eight daughters came to Minnesota between 1882 and 1887. The names of the daughters are Caroline, Friedrika, Bertha, Alvina, Mathilda, Ida, Hulda and Martha. Related surnames are Neumann, Morgenstern, Engel and Wiencke. Descendants live in Minnesota, Missouri and elsewhere in the United States.

Albert Wenninger (ca.1843-1910), a son of German immigrant parents, married Magdalena Schneider and immigrated in 1892 from Russia to Emmons County, North Dakota. All but one of their children immigrated from North Dakota to the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Descendants lived in Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and elsewhere in Canada. Some descendants lived in North Dakota, South Dakota and elsewhere in the United States.
