Clarissa Amy Hoyt Heaton was born in 1860 to Israel Hoyt and Hannah Elizabeth Cook. She married Jonathan Heaton in 1875 after the family had moved to Orderville. He had a second wife Lucy Elizabeth Carroll Heaton. Clarissa had 15 children and lived much of southern Utah's Latter-day Saint history before her death in 1943.
