This booklet is a "recording of the lineage of the Moore and Estes generations" (p.2), sponsored by Thomas Estes Moore and consists of "dates and names recalled and collected by Maude Estes Moore and Mary Estes Triplette so that ... the line of descendants ... may know of the courage and hardship of their forefathers"( p. 4 ). It is a partial tracing of the descendents of Jesse Moore and Reuben Estes of Globe Valley, North Carolina.

Aaron Estes (1820-1864) was born in Franklin County, Missouri to Hiram and Lucy Richardson Estes. In 1838 he married Elizabeth Wilson and they were the parents of at least ten children. In 1847 the family moved to Texas where they had a ranch. In 1861 Aaron joined the Confederate army. He was captured and imprisoned in Illinois in but was released in a prisoner exchange. he was unable to return home, however, because the Union army controled the Mississippi...

Richard Estes (b. 1647), a Quaker, immigrated to America in 1684 and settled first at Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He married Elizabeth Beck in the Society of Friends meeting house at Dover, New Hampshire, in 1687. They later moved to Lynn, Massachusetts, and lived there 1695-1705. Joseph Hornsby, son of Joseph Hornsby and Hannah Linkley, was born 23 May 1740 in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England. He emigrated in about 1757. He married Mildred Walker, daughter of Thomas Walker, in 1769 in Williamsburg, Virginia. They had nine children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Kentucky, Texas and Nova Scotia.
