Wilhelm "William" Wenner, the son of Wilhelm and Elisabeth (Buschkirken), was born on 29 May 1760 in Lovettsville, Loudoun County, Virginia. He married Priscilla Shoemaker (Schumacher), the daughter of George Schumacher, on 20 June 1784. She died about 1788 and about the same year Wilhelm married Anna Maria "Magdalena" Vincel. She died in 1870 long after Wilhelm died at Lovettsville, Virginia on 13 May 1821.

He married Rebecca Ann Gibbs (1842-1902), daughter of Jesse Gibbs and Hannah Ward, 16 April 1863. They had six children. He died in 1907 in Ridgeville, Ohio.
