Henry Farris (b. ca. 1670) emigrated from Glamorgan, Wales, ca. 1699, and settled near Richmond, Virginia. He was the father of at least seven children, born ca. 1709-ca. 1729. Thomas Riddle was born in 1740 in Scotland or England. He came to America ca. 1760 and settled in eastern Virginia. He married "Happy" Roberts in 1770. He died in 1785. Descendants lived in Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky, Michigan, South Carolina and elsewhere in the United States.

Eleazer Abbey (1779-1845) and Lydia Agard (1780-1828) were married in 1802, and moved from Connecticut to Middlebury, Vermont, in 1816. Their daughter Lucy married Lucius Farris in 1848, and they moved to Ohio about 1851 and settled in Painsville.

Joseph J. Ganey (1861-1935) was born in Henry, Alabama to John M. Gainey and Sarah Craddock. He married 1847 in Camp Co., Texas, Nancy Ellen Phennell (1871-ca. 1910), daughter of Benjamin Joseph Phennell and Nancy Davis. They were parents of eight children born in Franklin and Wood Co., Texas. Descendants live in Texas, Alabama and elsewhere.

John V. Hockett (ca. 1782-1850) and Catherine "Kitty" McNew (ca. 1783- 1858), both natives of Virginia, were married in Virginia, ca. 1811. Conrad Gunter, a German in the British Navy, retired and settled in Warwick, New York in 1753, and later moved to St. John, New Brunswick and still later returned to New York. His son, John Gunter (1793- 1876) married Nancy Ann(?) Currey and lived in Queens County, New Brunswick. Descendants lived in New Brunswick and elsewhere. Some descendants of Conrad lived in New York and elsewhere in the United States.

Description
John Foote (ca. 1758-1841) was born in Dublin, Ire. In 1774, he was seized by a "press gang" and forced to fight in the Revolutionary War for the British. At the close of the war, he went to N.C. and later to Ky. In 1819, he took his family of nine to Indiana. He died in Montgomery Co., Ind. Descendants have scattered throughout the United States.
