Oliver Perry Sallee, thought to be a descendant of French Huguenot immigrant Abraham Sallé, was born in about 1790 in Virginia. He married Elizabeth Willis in 1807 in Ohio County, Kentucky. They had thirteen children, many of whom migrated to Indiana or Illinois. He died in 1872 in White County, Illinois.
