Ruth Margaret Ferguson was born 29 April 1912 in Albany, Illinois. Her parents were Cecil Wilson Ferguson (1881-1969) and Amanda Pearl Miller (1888-1974). She married Lester Waldo Enyeart, son of William Henry Enyeart (1877-1966) and Cora Anna Stevenson (1882-1954), 26 October 1931 in Denver, Colorado. She married (2) Walter Eugene Clark. Ancestors have resided primarily in Pennsylvania.

John Ferguson spent his boyhood in North Carolina and later migrated of Kentucky, near Hopkinsville. He and his wife, Susan, had seven children. The family migrated to Indiana in 1808 and settled near Pigeon Creek, where Evansville, Indiana, now stands. His grandson, John Ferguson, was born in 1832, the son of Peter Ferguson (1803-1859). He married Matilda Jane Humphrey in 1851. They had nine children, 1852-1873. Descendants lived in Indiana and elsewhere.

Chiefly correspondence between the Ferguson and the Jayne families. James Ferguson, of Scot lineage, immigrated from Ireland to New York City in 1794 and married Jane Dunshee, a fellow immigrant. William Jayne (b.1618) immigrated from England to Long Island, New York in 1652. Descendants of the two families attended the Fergusonville Academy in Davenport, New York, and corresponded (and intermarried) thereafter.

On the same ship, William Dunbar, a Scotsman, and Richard Bennett, an Englishman, immigrated to Virginia in 1850. William eventually settled in St. Mary's County, Maryland.
