Thomas Jowsey (1801-1872), son of John Jowsey and Isabel Beal and of Huguenot ancestry, immigrated in 1824 from England to Eardley, Quebec, and married Rosannah Merrifield in 1826. Descendants and relatives lived in Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia and elsewhere. Some descendants (and some Merrifield and other ancestry) lived in New England and elsewhere in the United States.

Johann Conrad Maerten (b. 1664) emigrated with his wife, Anna Maria, and four children from Germany, ca. 1710. Only one son survived the the trip. The family settled at West Camp, New York, where two other sons were born, 1713-1715. Record lists children and grandchildren for each generation but chiefly follows line of descent to the author, Bruce Clifton Martin. Alvin Lucius Ferris, son of Charles E. Ferris (1809-1868) and Mary E. Morse (1812-1887), was born in 1840 in Orleans County, New York. He married his second cousin Mary Belinda Ferris (1844-1897), daughter of Joseph D. Ferris (d. 1880) and Mary Belinda Hinman, in 1863 in Twin Bridges, New York. He died in 1914 in Vona, Colorado.

Jeremiah Mead, Jr. (1755-1831), son of Jeremiah Mead (1727-1815 and Amy Lockwood Mead (1734-1814), was born in Greenwich, Connecticut and died in Ohio. In about 1870 he married Esther Peck (1756-1819). They moved to Ohio in 1817 where Esther Peck Mead in Butler County in 1819. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived in Connecticut, Ohio, New Jersey, Indiana, Iowa, New York, Oregon, Colorado and elsewhere.

Jeffrey Ferris was admitted at free man at Watertown, Massachusetts, in 1635, and later moved to Fairfield, Connecticut. He married twice and was the father of at least three sons. The family moved from Watertown to Wethersfield, Connecticut, ca. 1640 to Stamford, Connecticut, and ca. 1656 to Fairfield, Connecticut. Descendants listed lived in Connecticut, New York, and elsewhere.
