Barnard Fidler was born ca. 1653, the son of William Fidler of Derby County, England. He immigrated to America in 1680 and settled at Woodbury, New Jersey. His son, John Fidler (d. 1759), moved to Hopewell Township, Mercer County, New Jersey, before 1703. He and his wife, Sarah Smith, had seven children. Descendants listed lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, and elsewhere.
