Henry Cline Crecelius was born in about 1797 in Tyrrell County, North Carolina. His parents were John Godhard Crecelius and Elizabeth Ann Ausmus. He married Laura Hines Sharp in 1824 in Harrison County, Indiana. They had twelve children. The family moved to Meade County, Kentucky in about 1831. Descendants and relatives lived in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Texas, Georgia and elsewhere.
