Edgar Josiah Tilton was born 26 December 1852 in Monmouth, Maine. His parents were Josiah Tilton and Sophia Jane Shorey. He married Sarah Jane Tombaugh, daughter of Thomas Conrad Tombaugh and Sarah Katherine Horn, 27 September 1874 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He died in 1899. Ancestors and relatives lived mainly in Maine, New Hampshire and England.

Description
Thomas Follansbee emigrated from England and settled in Massachusetts. He and his wife, Abigail, probably had six children, 1674/5-1683. Descendants of their grandson William Follansbee (b. 1700/1) listed lived in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and elsewhere.
