Benager Spell was likely born ca. 1780 in Mississippi. He married Dorethea Foreman ca. 1804. Dorethea was the daughter of Ephraim Foreman who came from South Carolina. Benager and Dorethea lived in Louisiana and were the parents of eight known children. Descendants lived primarily in Louisiana and Texas.

John Foreman of Calne, Wiltshire, England had at least three children: William Foreman Sr. (d.1598); Agnes (Foreman) Sommers; and William Foreman Jr. (d.1596). William Foreman Sr. and Christian, his wife, had six children. Descendants and relatives through 1688 lived in England and elsewhere.
