Robert Forman immigrated to America in 1645 and settled on Long Island. He was a magistrate in Flushing and Hempstead. He had three sons who settled in New York and Connecticut and a grandson, James, who settled in New Brunswick after 1776.

Louis Formon-Boisclair (175l-1904) married Maria Rose Cambry of the West Indies. They, with their five children fled to America during the French Revolution. They settled in New England, Virginia and later in Georgia.

Sherry Lea Askland was born 2 June 1951 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Her parents were Andrew Askland and LeEllen Roedocker. Her mother's parents were John Robert Roedocker (1896-1957) and Una Belle Forman (b. 1899). Traces mainly the Forman line in South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Ontario, New Brunswick and elsewhere.

William Vandiver was born supposedly in 1720 in Salem county, N. J. He died in Hampshire county, Va. in 1805. He was a descendant of either Cornelius Janszens or captain Jacob Jacobsen Vanderveer, son of Jacob Vanderveer born in Holland c 1600. William married Elizabeth Lewis. Her will was dated 15 Feb 1815.

Robert Forman lived in Kent County, Maryland. He married Mary or Margaret. They had eight known children. Their son, Arthur, married Mary Reed in 1700. They had three children, Francis, Arthur and Mary. He married Elizabeth in about 1722 and they had one son, Robert. A different Robert Forman emigrated in 1645 and settled in Flushing, Long Island, New York. His wife's name was Johanna and they had three sons, Moses, Aaron and Samuel. Descendants...

John Van Clief emigrated from The Netherlands to Richmond, Staten Island, New York and married Sarah Marshall. A grandson, John Van Clief (1790-1845), emigrated from the United States to Bloomfield, Ontario, and married Hannah Hubbs. Descendants and relatives lived in Ontario, Manitoba and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Michigan, Illinois, California and elsewhere in the United States. Includes some Hubbs ancestry in New York.
