Description
Joshua Foster (1798-1863) was a son of John Foster (1762-1839) and a grandson of Quaker immigrant to North Carolina, Hugh (Forster) Foster. Joshua married Sarah (Sally) Hunt in 1825 in Guilford County, North Carolina. Sally was not a Quaker and Joshua was condemned for the marriage. Descendants and relatives lived in North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and elsewhere.

Hugh Forster (ca. 1715/20-1776/1782) was born possibly in Cecil Co., Md. and he died in Rowan Co., North Carolina. He married Abigail ? (ca. 1724-1785), who was born in New Garden, Guilford Co., N.C. where she also died. They were parents of seven children, who were all born in North Carolina. Descendants live in Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Colorado, California, Arizona, Utah and elsewhere.
