John Jacob Byerly (d. ca. 1771) and his family, emigrated from the Palatinate of Germany, ca. 1750 and settled first in Pennsylvania, then followed the German migration to North Carolina. He and his wife, Mary Elizabeth, had at least six children, ca. 1745-before 1760. John Jacob and Mary Elizabeth Byerly are buried at the Beck's Church Cemetry, Rowan County, North Carolina. Descendants lived in North Carolina, Illinois, Indiana and elsewhere.

Marx Ilgenfritz (b. ca. 1550) was born in Oberwornitz, Middle Franconia, Germany. He married Margaretha Hesenauer (1550-1602) and they became the parents of seven children. Several of his descendants, including Johan Georg Ilgenfritz (1728-1810), immigrated to America and settled in Pennsylvania. Johan was married twice and was the father of seventeen children. Descendants live in Pennsylvania and other parts of the United States.
