Robert Bird (1758-1816) was born at Chawleigh, Devonshire, England, the son of Thomas and Isold Northcote Bird. He married Jane Reed, daughter of George and Jane Brown Reed in 1782 at Chawleigh. William Green Childs, son of Elisha Childs and Cynthia Thornton, was born in 1824 in Barbour County, Alabama. He married Louisa Sellers (d. 1867), daughter of Samuel Sellers and Sarah Stanaland, in 1846. They had ten children. He married Martha Watson Britt in about 1868. They had six children. He died in 1902.
