Henry Funk was born in 1753 in Strasburg, Shenandoah County, Virginia. His parents were Henry Funk and Franey Veronica (1696-1758). He married Elizabeth Mueller 18 July 1774. There is no record of James Cathell, Sr. before 1720. He married Elizabeth Davis in 1720. He lived, at one time, in Somerset County, Maryland. He & Elizabeth had 5 children: James, David, Jonathan, Esther & Sarah. James' will was probated 8 May 1772 in Worcester County, Maryland. A son Jonathan preceded him in death; it is assumed his wife, Elizabeth, also preceded him in death.
