Orville Kenneth Sweet was born June 21, 1923 in Wichita Falls, Texas. His parents were Forest Albert Sweet (1888-1947) and Mary Belle Fitts (1890-1981). He married Mary Lewellwyn Gwaltney May 25, 1946 in Duncan, Oklahoma. Her parents were Troy William Gwaltney (1902-1972) and Eva Gallaher (1906-1970).
