Martin Van Buren High was born in Ohio in 1837. He served in the Civil War and information on his activities is included in this volume. He married Angeline Alder and they had seven children. All of the descendants of Jesse Garrison, a son of James Garrison and Hester Ann Roberts. Jesse's parents had come from Maryland to the Pendleton District of South Carolina, where he was born ca. 1793. The family moved to Warren County, Kentucky before 1810. Jesse married Cassandra Doyle about 1820, probably in Hart County, Kentucky; they moved to Hamilton County in Illinois Territory about 1824, then to Greene County in 1829.

George Phebus came to America about 1665 and settled in Maryland. His ancestors were originally from France and were Huguenots. George married Anne Street in 1678. He had at least 5 children and in 1703 he married a second time to Mary Jones. Information on several lines of descendants are included in these volumes. Dempsey Peary Coor (1858-1941), son of James Madison Coor, was born in Natchez, Mississipi. He married Mary Victoria Pair (1867-1922), daugter of Robert Wilson Pair, in 1889, Erath County, Texas. They had thirteen children. He died in St. Angelo, Texas. His wife died in Phoenix, Arizona.
