Philip Sutter (1867-1948) was the son of John Sutter and Cheresa Brannakerk, who were both born in Baden, Germany. His parents were immigrants who reared him in Towanda Township, Illinois. Floyd Lester Cheney was born 11 October 1886 in North English, Iowa. His parents were William Henry Cheney and Alice Matilda Smith. He married Delila Ethel Geiger, daughter of William McClellan Geiger and Tamer Ann Smart, 23 December 1908. They had four children. Floyd died in 1965 in Sigourney, Iowa.
