Johannes Gerber (1796-1870) was born in Switzerland and later spent ten years as a Lutheran missionary in West Africa. He immigrated to the United States in 1834. He was married four times, the fourth time to Anna Maria Ackert, in 1843. The family joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1852 and migrated to Utah in 1854. Descendants of Johannes and Anna Maria Ackert Gerber lived in Utah and elsewhere.

Jacob Gerber (b.1732) was born in the German Palatinate of Swiss immigrant parents, and immigrated (via Rotterdam) to Philadelphia in 1753 with his brothers, Michael and Simon. He settled on land near Johnsville, Maryland. Descendants (chiefly spelling the surname Garber) and relatives lived in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and elsewhere. William Gedge was born December 31, 1830, in Old Buckenham, Norfolk, England, son of Reames Gedge and Lucy Kybird. He married Rachel Bush November 22, 1855 at Kenninghall, Norfolk, England. Rachel was born October 10, 1833, in Deopham, Norfolk, England, daughter of Daniel and Mary Bush. William and Rachel were the parents of ten children. Rachel died March 15, 1911. William died December 30, 1912. Both are buried in the Salt Lake City, cemetery.

Sarah Ann Sager was born in 1852 in Sandusky County, Ohio. Her parents were Jacob Sager (1811-1872) and Susannah Williams. Her family moved to Richland County, Illinois in 1854. She married Francis Marion Harrell (1855-1929). She died in 1929. Her granddaughter, Inez Gerber Shultz (1901-1986), continued her notebook which contained births, marriages and deaths of the Sager and related families, along with recipes, remedies, poems, etc.

Christian Garver (Gerber) (Carver), born 1720 in Switzerland to Jacob Gerber. Christian had three wives. The names of the first two are unknown.
