Description
Peter Gerhart (d. 1766) lived in Alsace before he and a brother and a sister, who were Huguenots, fled to Holland. In 1739 they came to America and settled in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Descendants (some spelling the surname Gerhardt) and relatives through the fourth generation lived chiefly in Pennsylvania.

Descendants of Heinrich Friedrich (Henry) Duelm (ca. 1804-1864), son of Friedrich Duelm and Dorothea Holzhausen of Germany, who was born in Hagen, Grafschaft Pyrmont, Prussia, Germany. He died in San Antonio, Bexar Co., Texas. His first wife was Sophie Louise Nibelsick or Nebelsack (d. 1847 in Germany). John English (1713/1718-1758/1761) married Abigail Newcomb in 1738, and emigrated from England to Lebanon, Connecticut. Descendants lived in New England, New York, the Midwest and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Nova Scotia.

Johann Michael Lohnes was born 1 May 1738 in Grumbach, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany. His parents were Johannes Lohnes (1719-1794) and Anna Barbara Kahl (1714-1778). He married Anna Maria Sophia Corkum (1739-1801) 29 April 1760 in Nova Scotia. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Germany, Nova Scotia and Virginia.

Description
The Gerhardt/Gerhard/Gerhart family descended from Paul Gerhardt (1607- 1676) who was renowned for his Gospel Hymns. Several families left the Palatinate to go to Rotterdam and then to America. Frederick Gerhard (1714-1779) was born at Langenselbot Hesse Darmstadt. In 1737, he married Elizabeth Fisher and in 1739, they immigrated to Philadelphia with their son, Peter. After her death, he married a widow Barbara Rieger. They had 9 children.

Jacob Stŭtzman (d.1773/1775) came to land in Lancaster (later York) County, Pennsylvania between 1742 and 1754, moved to land in Frederick County, Maryland before 1761, and died in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Descendants lived in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and elsewhere.
