Description
George Giddings (1610-1676) married Jane Lawrence in 1634, and emigrated before 1638 from England to Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Oregon and elsewhere. Some descendants became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived in Utah, Arizona, Oregon and elsewhere. Includes ancestry in England, through nobility, back to Adam and Eve.

The emigrant ancestor, George Giddings (1609-1676), was born in Clapham, Beds., England, and died in Ipswich, Essex Co., Mass. He was the son of John Gidding and Joan Purrier. He married Jane Lawrence (1614- 1680), daughter of Thomas Lawrence and Joan Antrobus, 1633 in St. Albans, Herts., England. From Massachusetts family members have migrated to Connecticut, New York, Illinois, South Dakota, Oregon, Utah and Arizona.

Joseph Giddings was born in 1759 in Connecticut. His parents were James Giddings and Lucy Rockwell. He married Mary Button (1764-1849), daughter of John Button and Hannah Stanbury, in 1782. They had fourteen children. Traces author's ancestral connections to several Mayflower families. Includes Brewster, Chipman, Howland, Mayo and related families.

James Giddings (1781-1863) was born in Preston, Connecticut and died in Herrick, Pennsylvania. He married Lucy Demming (1783-1861) and their daughter, Maria Antoinette (1819-1908) married Walter Lyon (1812-1872) of Herrick, Pennsylvania. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Minnesota, and elsewhere.

Samuel Webster was born 23 November 1778 in Fisherfield, Merrimack, New Hampshire. His parents were probably Joseph Stanell Webster (1754-1837) and Mary Carr. He married Deborah Fuller, daughter of Simeon Fuller and Anna Blackmer, 16 July 1809 in Wheelock, Vermont. They had seven children. Samuel died 16 January 1847 in Noble County, Indiana. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Indiana, Iowa and Kansas.

John Collins Sr. (b.1616) immigrated before 1640 from England to Boston and Braintree, Massachusetts. Williams Collins (1760-1847), direct descendant in the sixth generation, married Esther Morris in 1783, and in 1822 moved from Connecticut to Quincy, Illinois. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware and elsewhere. Includes some Hertzog ancestors in Germany.
