William Gilliland lived in Ireland. He joined the Royal Army in the 1750s and fought in the French and Indian Wars. After his discharge he remained in New York and founded the towns of Willsboro, Westport and Elizabethtown in Essex County. Includes his journal entries from 1763 to 1776.

Forrest Gilliland was the son of James Millard Gilliland and Laura Hall. His family moved from Kentucky to Arizona in about 1900. He married Elva Gertrude Hall, daughter of William Alexander Hall and Sarah Francis Fannin Hall, 15 January 1908 in Grant County, New Mexico. Their son, James Oscar Gilliland was born 31 March 1911 in Duncan, Arizona.

Reverend James McMillen was born in 1735 in Ireland and immigrated to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He and his wife Eleanor moved to Somerset County where he died in 1821.

Colonel Henry DeCoursey (1620-1697) was a descendant of John, First Earl of Ulster. He came to Maryland with his brothers, William and John in 1649, first living in St. Mary's County. Henry Washington Blankenship was born 20 March 1834 in Henry County, Georgia. His father was Solomon Blankenship. He married Sarah Elizabeth Crowell in 1857. They had six children. Henry died in 1922. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived in Alabama, Texas, Virginia, Georgia and elsewhere.

Jane Gilliland (1822-1865) was born a Vevay, Switzerland County, Indiana, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Gilliland. Her family soon moved to Crawfordsville, Indiana, where she spent most of her girlhood, and then migrated to Iowa. She married William McGrew in 1844 at Wapello, Iowa. They moved to Lancaster Township, Keokuk County, Iowa. She died at age 42, three years after the birth of her youngest child.
