Chiefly the research notes of Perry Parr for the Givens family of Virginia. Samuel Givens immigrated to America from Ireland. He landed at Philadelphia and settled in the Shenandoah Valley. He was the father of ten children.

Description
Samuel Givens immigrated from Ireland to Orange, now Highland Co., Virginia in 1738 and died in 1740. George Givens, 1743-1846 immigrated from Ireland about 1794 and married three times, dying in Pike Co., Ohio.
