Descendants of John Gorman, an Irish immigrant, who came to America before the Revolutionary War. His son, John Gorman (1773-1847) and wife, Mary (Sandusky) Gorman (d. 1852) lived in Cock Co., Tennessee. They were parents of eleven children born in 1802 through 1827. Some family members migrated to Alabama and Texas.

Antoni Sadowski (1669-1736) was born in Poland. He lost his first wife in the Great Northern War when Sweden invaded the Polish territory on the Gulf of Riga. Samuel Jackson Sr. was a Quaker descendant of Ralph Jackson, who was burned at the stake as a martyr in 1556 at Stratford, England. Samuel Sr. was born in Ireland, and immigrated to North Carolina. Maurice Voise (1831-1890) was a son of Peter Voise, born in Smith Falls, Canada. Maurice married Eliza J. Riddell, and they lived in St. Clair, Ontario.
