Description
Jacob Gosselin (b.1609) married Martha Chauvel in 1623. Both were born in Dieppe, France. The Gosselin family was Huegonot, fled to Holland in 1609, and settled in Amsterdam. One of Jacob's grandsons, Jacob married Judith L'esveiles in Charenton, France, immigrated to England and then in 1700 immigrated to America and settled at Newtown (now Elmhurst, Long Island, New York).

Stanislas Pascal Franchot (1774-1855) immigrated from France to Louisville (now Morris), New York in 1789--with his widowed father and three brothers. Stanislas married twice, and died at Albany (and was buried in Morris). Descendants and relatives lived in New York, New England, Washington, D.C., Virginia and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Québec and elsewhere in Canada.
