Phillip Towle (1616-1696) was living at Hampton, New Hampshire, by 1657, when he married Isabella Austin. They were the parents of nine children. Their great grandson, Joanathan Towle (1747-1822), at Revolutionary War soldier, was born at Hampton, the son of James Towle (1698-1756). He married Miriam Marston in 1773. They had eight children.
