Jacob Hugo Ernest Düben, son of Hermann Julius Düben and Augusta Caroline Kolicka, was born 25 March 1863 in Ragasin, Posen, Prussia. He emigrated in 1884 and settled in Shamokin, Pennsylvania. He married Margaret Bassler, daughter of Matthias Bassler and Clophia Barbara Schiess, in 1899 in Trevorton, Pennsylvania. They had three children. He died in 1931. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania and Utah.

John Christopher was raised near Pisgah, West Virginia. He was born about 1815 and was married twice, to Mary Lawson and after her death to Delila Walls. He was the father of sixteen children. Information on many of his descendants is given in this small volume. Descendants now live in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and elsewhere. .
