Maximilian Ockenfuss (1817-1881) was the son of Marcell (Maxzell) Ockenfuss and (1) Johanna Herzer of Bohlsbach, north of Offenberg, Baden, Germany. He emigrated in 1845 and settled at Ste. Francis Marion Tate was born 29 November 1862 in Cumberland, Illinois. His parents were Garrison Tate (1831-1901) and Jenett Adams. He married Mary Minerva White (1862-1924), daughter of Harvey Allen Haywood White (1830-1906) and Hannah Kingery (1833-1921), 6 March 1881. They had nine children. He died 19 January 1939 in Lerna, Illinois. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Georgia and Illinois.

Richard Thomas immigrated from Wales to Pennsylvania before 1683 with a ten-year old son. John Lilburn Thomas (1826-1905), direct descendant in the sixth generation, lived in Sweetwater, Tennessee and married Mary Ann Wattenbarger.
