Hans Peter Hillegass was born in 1649 in Sinsheim, Baden, Germany. He married Anna Regina Triegel (1655-1708). They had six known sons, all of whom emigrated and settled in Pennsylvania and New York. William M. Sanders was born 31 July 1795 in Virginia. He married Nancy Roberts (1801-1875), daughter of Henry Roberts and Elizabeth Maddox, 13 April 1817 in Carrollton, Kentucky.
