Remon King Stoney was born 27 March 1907 in Junction, Utah. His parents were John Henry Stoney (1870-1941) and Mary Laverna King (1881-1917). He married Violet Caroline Grieve (1909-2001), daughter of Peter Grieve (1877-1955) and Laura Peterson (1875-1918), in 1929 in Ogden, Utah.
