Family history and genealogical information about the descendants of Joseph O. Procter who was born 31 August 1743 in Danvers, Massachusetts. He married Elizabeth Epes 3 March 1768. They lived in Massachusetts and were the parents of ten children. Joseph died 29 January 1805. Descendants lived primarily in the state of Massachusetts.

The Mettetal family originated in Glay, France in the fifteenth century. Later they moved to Etupes in France, where they are known to have been mostly Protestants. Pierre Mettetal, a Huguenot, emigrated from Etupes to the United States in 1826. He was an early pioneer in Redford, Wayne County, Michigan. Descendants and relatives lived in Michigan, Virginia, Tennessee, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Arizona and elsewhere.
