Henry Louks was born in about 1758, probably in New York. He married Sara Sluyter, possibly the daughter of Jacob Sluyter and Lidia Keyser, in about 1784. They had ten known children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in New York, Vermont, Ontario, Quebec, Indiana, Illinois and Kansas.

Sophia Cummins, daughter of Samuel Arnett Cummins and Lucy Ann, was born in 1847 on the Ohio River. Her family settled in Reevesville, Illinois. She was married and widowed three times.

Charles John or John Charles Roe was born 6 August 1850 in Radford, Nottingham, England. His parents were James Roe and Elizabeth Hollis.
