Ephraim Headlee was born 21 January 1758 in Morris County, New Jersey and died in Greene County, Pennsylvania 6 December 1822. He was a son of John Headlee and grandson of Richard Headlee. John died before seeing active service, after enlisting in the New Jersey military for the Revolutionary War; Ephraim thereupon served with the same military as an army scout.
