William C. Cornwell, Sr., was born in 1768 in Virginia. Mary F. Swan was born in 1775 in Maryland. They were married in 1794. They had ten children, 1795-1819. The family was living in Maryland in 1795; in Virginia, in 1802; in Jefferson County, Kentucky, in 1807; and migrated to Orange County, Indiana, ca. 1821. He died there in 1845.
