Walter Sylvester Harris was born in Indiana in 1869. His family moved to Tennesse where he married Elizabeth Bennett. Later he settled with his family in Alabama. They had at least one daughter and she has gathered abuntant informaton on their ancestral lines aned related families. Today descendents live throughout the south states and elsewhere.

Humphrey Nichols was raised in Newtown, New York in the home of his uncle, Joseph Nichols. His father was Isaac Nichols of Stratford, Connecticut. Humphrey is known to have been a perment resident of Newark, New Jersey prior to 1738. He married Abigail Wheeler, daughter of Joseph and Sarah Wheeler, of Newark, New Jersey. They were the parents of eight children. Humphrey died about 3 June 1764.
