Jonathan Hager was born in 1714, possibly in Wittgenstein destrict, Westphalia, Germany, and immigrated to Philadelphia in 1736. He married Elizabeth Kershner in 1740, and was granted land in 1739 on what became Hagerstown, Maryland, in 1762 (the official name of the town has varied). Jonathan died in 1775.

George Willet was born in 1757 in Prince George County, Maryland, the son of William and Mary Girffith Willett. He and his wife, Elizabeth Sanders, had eleven children. The family migrated from Maryland and settled near Bardstown, Kentucky. He died near Bardstown in 1811. Descendants listed lived in Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Arkansas, and elsewhere.

Johann Jacob Hager was born in about 1698 in Hesse-Kassel, Germany. He married Anna Maria in about 1722. They had seven children. They emigrated in 1732 and settled in New Jersey. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Some descendants spell their name Hauger. Includes Kefauver and related families.

Franklin Melburn Hager was born in 1871 in Michigan, the son of Isaac and Harriett Hager. His family moved when he was young to Kansas and then Missouri. In 1907 he married Mary Nancy Fraley, the daugher of James A. and Sarah Wyatt Fraley. They raised six children. Information on many of the descendants of Isaac Hager and James Fraley are included in this record. Many of them have served in the military and many still reside in midwestern states.

Henry Hager emigrated, with his uncle Johan Frederick Hager, from the Palatinate of Germany to Albany (later Schoharie) County, New York in 1709. Henry served in the French and Indian war and, with his son Jacob, served in the Revolutionary War--he died after 1782. Descendants lived in New York, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, California and elsewhere.
