Their ancestors were English, and probably Welsh. Edward was born in Buckingham shire, England. His first wife was Frances Paxton, who died in England in 1630. Edward's second wife, Eleanor, immigrated with him to Boston, Massachusetts in 1639. They settled first in Lynn, Massachusetts....

The earliest known ancestor of Thomas Halsey alias Chambers (1593-1678) of Southampton, New York was John Halsey alias Chambers (1498-1559 of Dunstable, Bedfordshire. He was the father of Thomas Halsey alias Chambers (1522-1601) who moved to Hertfordshire. He was the father of Robert Halsey alias Chambers (1552-1610) who married Ellen Alley alias Cooke. They were the parents of Thomas who immigrated to America and settled in New York.

Richard Wooley (Woolworth) landed at Newbury, Massachusetts in 1678. He had taken the oath of allegiance in Ipswich, and was then thirty years of age. He married Hannah Huggins (d. 1691), 24 December 1678. They had five daughters and one son. Richard Wooley received his first land grant in 1680. His allotment was situated in the southeast part of the town of Southhold, afterward Suffield, then a a part of Massachusetts. They moved to Suffield in 1685....

William Rogers (b.1612) was the son of Thomas Rogers, Jr. He married Ann Hall in 1630 and they were the parents of six children. Their son Obadiah (b.1633) married Mary Marvin, the daughter of Robert Marvin and Mary Browne. They were the parents of seven children. Several generations of descendants are given.
